In the design world we usually strive for “Form & Function” but some times the form is so beautiful that we can forget about the function. These wooden popsicles by Johnny Hermann can possibly serve as a statement reminder of the good'ol popsicle we love so much.

COFEE AND BEER? - 

We were only just saying that our most popular posts have either been about Beer or Coffee… and guess what?

As part of a charity project to raise funds for disaster relief efforts for the devastating 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami, Anchor Coffee and sake & beer brewery, Sekinoichi, collaborated to create the ‘Coffee Beer", a beer with a rich, deep taste, due to the coffee beans added during the brewing process. 

The two companies, both from the devastated region in northern Japan invited design company Nendo to develop a distinct packaging design for the product - Looks great but what does it taste like?… let us know or better still send us a few bottles :)

PAINTED BOOKS - 

We are often inspired by the process of taking something that is no longer wanted and then by some stroke of genius turned into a work of art.

Los Angeles-based artist Mike Stilkey likes to experiment with the canvases he chooses for his whimsical paintings, including vintage paper, record covers, book pages, and most interestingly on hardcover books themselves.

Every year a countless number of books are thrown out so it’s good to know that at least some books get to live again - hope this inspires you.
